Crazy Tomes Crazy Tomes

Described by some as "bluesy rock and roll with a touch of insanity", Crazy Tomes is known as one of the most unique performers due to his energetic live performances, virtuoso guitar playing, distinctive soulful vocals, and musical versatility. He keeps the old-school classic sound alive and well, but with a new twist to it!

Tomer began playing music at the age of 7. Growing up in Israel, he started as a classically trained piano player, but after discovering Elvis, The Beatles and many others, he fell in love with Rock'n'Roll and switched to the guitar. After moving to Virginia in 1998, he started playing in high school Jazz and Symphonic bands. It was around that time when he was unexpectedly invited onstage by his musical idol Little Richard for a song. Not only that, but Little Richard gave him his stage name, "Crazy Tomes"!

During his years at The College of William and Mary, Crazy Tomes studied Jazz Guitar with Woody Beckner, and started his professional career as a musician around 2003, playing local events in Virginia as well as theaters, clubs, restaurants and festivals, both as a solo act and with his Blues-Rock band Burning Wagon. They have headlined and helped organizing the "Kenya Feel the Rock" charity concert for Kenya, and were among the performers at Bruce Hornsby's festival that raised money for Malawi. After getting his Bachelor's degree in music and completing two east coast tours, he and some of his bandmates moved to Los Angeles in 2006.

In California, he played locally for several years and opened for many legendary performers, as well as doing session work. In 2009, after several lineup changes, Crazy Tomes ended Burning Wagon and joined the Pop-Rock band, Arrest My Sister. They performed for three years around the country, including in Carnegie Hall (2011), as well as festivals with major pop/rock acts, and released their album "Make Your Move", produced by the legendary singer Freddy Curci of the band Alias. Shortly afterwards, Crazy Tomes joined the hard rock band Gundriver as a lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, they did two US tours with Michael Schenker Group and released two albums.

2013 was a very special year for Crazy Tomes. After making his name known in both Blues and Rock scenes, he has joined two of his favorite acts that he has admired since childhood. First, he was hired as bass player (and later as guitar player) for Blues legend Guitar Shorty, who was also Jimi Hendrix's mentor.

And around the same time, he also started playing guitar for Willie Chambers, and eventually for The Chambers Brothers, one of 1960s greatest bands, widely known for "Time Has Come Today". He continues touring with Guitar Shorty and The Chambers Brothers to this day, as well as working on many recording collaborations.

He is also a lead guitar player for R&B legend Swamp Dogg, performing with him every New Year's Eve at the Roxy Theater since 2017, as well as at the Ryman Auditorium (original Grand Ole Opry) with Bon Iver, among many other concerts around the world.

Crazy Tomes has played in nearly every state in America, as well as in Germany, Belgium, England, Holland, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, Israel, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Jamaica, Bahamas, Cayman Island, Spain and other places. In May 2015, he released his first solo album "The Imaginary World of Crazy Tomes", co-produced with Burleigh Drummond of Ambrosia, which featured original material, collaborations with several Blues legends, as well as a cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" that features the original Rolling Stones percussion player and Afro-rock pioneer, Remi Kabaka. Songs from that album have been played on radio stations around the world and got the praise of many artists and music critics.

In addition, Crazy Tomes has also co-wrote songs that were recorded by other artists such as Ry Cooder, that were on the radio and in movie soundtracks, and has played on dozens of records, including one album produced by the great Jack Douglas (who produced Aerosmith and John Lennon), with the band Beyond Conception. Crazy Tomes has also made special guest appearances and traded licks with many music greats, including Elvin Bishop, Walter Trout, Koko Taylor, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Warrant, Arthur Adams, Larry Taylor, Jim McCarty and many many others.

Crazy Tomes currently has a band that consists of some of California's finest musicians, including Malcolm Lukens (Canned Heat) and Jon McCracken, and he continues touring and recording.
